in the pub there is a pile of betfred slips on the left hand side of the bar alongside a bunch of betting shop ball point pens. Even during the day when the horse racing is on I have rarely seen them used for their intended purpose. Instead they seem to have become more akin to pub stationary (this is what people often call them,) being used as a form of communication, for reccomending songs, writing down dates of events, keeping score at darts, diagramming treasure maps, for drawings, simple drawing games, or writing poetry.
